Nokia and Apple which are well known names in the mobile market are now getting involved in a fight against each other and crossed swords in Europe.

After significant effect in telecom industry about their technology and services, are battling over the proportions and attributes of the next-generation SIM card classified as Nano SIM.

In accordance to the Verge, Apple prefers European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to recognize its nano SIM offer and make it an industry conventional.

A website states that Apple’s nano SIM model has the shape and size comparable to that of the SIM area on the present micro SIM, utilized in phones like iPhone 4S, Lumia 800 and Motorola Razr.

On the other hand, Nokia, which at present keeps the maximum number of votes at ETSI, has its own model. It has a shape identical to a microSD card and is endorsed by other industry heavy loads like Research In Motion, which creates Blackberry phones, and Motorola.

With respect to the reports, Nokia states its nano SIM has superior design and style. Nokia states that Apple’s pattern may harm cell phones as it will be possible to place the SIM incorrectly.

Presently, most of the cell phones in India utilize full-sized SIM. But in the next very few years, they would change to micro SIM. Nano SIM is likely to build its way to gadgets a few years after it is authorized and recognized as industry standard. Nokia is saying that Apple does not even carry any patents concerning the design and features of a nano SIM.

The ETSI is estimated to make a decision on the issue in the next few days.
