Google shows the innovating again and an official announcement is done over the Google’s bid for a number of new gTLD’s. Google with this announcement shows interest to bring the most of the population online with their interest in the exciting and innovative prospective without having relation into its core business in the same.

 

Few days before, the official blog of the company unveiled that it has submitted the Application to ICANN(Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ) for the domain names .google, .youtube, .doc and .lol. Isn’t exciting to have domain like abc.lol that only focuses on displaying the latest pranks and jokes on the Web. But the user have to wait till June for the approved domain names by ICANN.

 

The main behind the scene is to expand the TLDs in 4 categories which are:

• For trademarks (.google)
• Sites associated to core business (.docs)
• Sites related to Videos(.youtube)
• Sites Related to entertainment and fun(.lol).

 

According to Google’s official Blog, “In 2016, it’s estimated that almost half of the world’s population will be online, yet nearly 50 percent of the websites we visit are found in the .com top-level domain (TLD), which was among the first TLDs created in 1984,” Google wrote on its Official Blog. m top-level domain (TLD), which was among the first TLDs created in 1984” .
